This talk introduces practical guidance for reporting on lived experience engagement mental health and substance use research papers, in addition to guidance around co-authorship with people with lived experience (including families).

Participants will:
Become familiar with new guidance for reporting on engagement activities in mental health and substance use research.
Gain practical tips on completing reporting with people with lived experience and key considerations when submitting to journals.
Explore best practices for informed co-authorship with people with lived experience in the manuscript writing process.
About The Speaker:
Dr. Yasmin Sheikhan is a postdoctoral fellow at CAMH and a recent graduate of the Institute of Health Policy, Management & Evaluation at the University of Toronto. Her work focuses on partnering with people with lived and living experience and families to improve how mental health and substance use research is designed, reported, and used. In addition to her research role, she is the patient Vice Chair of the Mid-West Toronto Ontario Health Team and chairs their Patient and Caregiver Advisory Council.
