Dr. Avra Selick is a scientist with the Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). She obtained her PhD in Health Services Research at the Institute for Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto.
Areas of Research
Dr. Selick is a health services researcher focused on how to design, implement, and scale accessible models of care for adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities and other underserved populations. She uses qualitative and mixed methods approaches to gain a nuanced understanding of patient, family, and provider experiences of care. Areas of interest include models of primary care for complex populations, virtual healthcare, knowledge mobilization, collaborative care models, and the impact of climate change on mental health. Dr. Selick’s work has been funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Special Olympics Canada, Ontario Ministry of Health, and Kids Brain Health Network.
She recently co-led the development of practice guidance to support alternate level of care patients with a dual diagnosis to transition out of hospital.
